Illinois Spelling Scholarship
The Illinois Spelling Scholarship is made possible through the creativity and dedication of our spellers, who collaborate with S2C practitioner and artist Louie DeMarco to design and sell merchandise, raising funds to support this initiative. This scholarship program is aimed at providing financial assistance to families who otherwise would not have access to Spelling to Communicate (S2C), a method that empowers non-speakers, minimally speaking, and unreliably speaking individuals to communicate.
Eligibility & Details:
This scholarship is available to Illinois residents only.
Recipients will receive 10 S2C sessions at a significantly reduced rate of $20 per session and a set of free letter boards, making it accessible to those in need.
Applicants must be at least 10 years old and must be new to S2C.
Only parents or legal guardians can apply on behalf of their child or adult.
Applicants must live within a 60-minute drive of Amplifying Potential Therapy (APT) in Northbrook, IL.
A dedicated Communication Regulation Partner (CRP) is required to help the individual practice and implement S2C techniques at home. This can be a parent, guardian, or support person, who will work closely with an S2C practitioner for guidance and support.
The Illinois Spelling Scholarship provides an invaluable opportunity to experience the life-changing benefits of S2C in an affordable and supportive environment. By bridging the gap for families in need, this program ensures that more individuals can unlock their communication potential through this transformative approach.
